First Malayalam Short Story Translated:
My mother, Mrs Prema Rammohan, and I have translated what is considered to be the first short story in Malayalam, ‘Vasanavikruti‘, written by V. K. Nayanar. The story was published in Vidyavinodini magazine in February 1891. Our English translation has been published as ‘The Desire for Mischief’ in Indian Literature, the journal of the Sahitya Akademi, in its July-August 2024 edition. Mastermind India 2000
Below is the link to the video of the Final episode of ‘BBC Mastermind India 2000’. My specialised subject was ‘Women Nobel Laureates’. My overall score (in the Specialised + General Knowledge rounds) was 43 points, a record that still stands. The episode was filmed at the majestic Durbar Hall of the Umaid Bhawan Palace, Jodhpur.
